Newport ESP7000 Motion Controller Simple Type: Motion Controller

The ESP7000 is an integrated controller and driver in one chassis that simplifies system hook-up and provides improved reliability. The ESP7000 can drive and control up to six axes of motion using any combination of DC and/or stepper motors. Each driver module will drive 2 or 4 phase stepper and brush DC servo motors at 3A (max.) per axis. This capability will allow the user to drive any of Newport's wide selection of standard stages. The controller uses a 32-bit, floating point, 60 MHz DSP processor for high precision synchronized control, and supports sophisticated trajectories like: synchronized circular/linear interpolation and continuous path contouring for complex motion profiling. The controller can also execute trapezoidal and S-curve velocity profile for smooth, jerk free positioning. The previously defined ESP architecture consists of the DSP based controller, motor driver, and ESP-compatible stages. The system is designed to operate with Newport Corporation's ESP-compatible stages, but can be configured to function with other stages.
